The Orbital Oracle
Now that we seem to have covered all the roads on earth we are going into Orbit for our next trip! Rather than outer space our new tour will see us visit Orbit Coaches, Leicester on Saturday 12th May for a trip around outer Leicestershire. This trip is operated by Nik Anthony with planning and promotional support from Chris Martin and our plan has been devised to allow us to enjoy journeys on three Olympians in the fleet as well as covering many roads around the region which rarely, if ever, see double deck operation.
Vehicles requested are;
H112SAO, Leyland Olympian/Alexander new to Cumberland
H113SAO, Leyland Olympian/Alexander new to Cumberland
CNZ4060, Volvo Olympian/Alexander new to Stagecoach Burnley and Pendle as R247NBV
Our day will start at the Orbit garage at 0935, their depot can be found at Redcomb Business Park, Desford Road, Enderby which is a left turning off the B582 around 0.3 miles miles after passing over the M69 motorway if coming from Enderby village and can be found using postcode LE19 4AD. We will show you where to park upon arrival. The main pick up will be at 1005 outside Leicester railway station on London Road, we will pull up at one of the stops close to the station on the same side of the road as the rail station itself. The first run takes us out to Market Bosworth and the surrounding area, the second run is a long trip across to Cossington and Melton Mowbray (where the lunch break will be taken) and the third trip will take us around Hinckley.
During each run we will stop somewhere suitable to allow passengers to photograph the vehicle and there will be time to see and photograph the other vehicles in the fleet at the depot. The last run will drop off close to Leicester station at around 1815 before finishing at the depot at around 1845.
The fare for the entire day of travelling is £20 for all passengers. You don't need to pre-book or reserve a place, simply turn up on the day, hop on the bus and we will collect your fare during the journey. There is no requirement to be a member of any particular group or society to join this trip, nor do you require an invitation to join us.
Our trip is a private hire and the operator will not be able to answer any questions or enquiries- if you require any further information or you have any questions please e-mail one of us at chrismartin13601 (at) hotmail.co.uk or nik280 (at) btinternet.com (substitute the correct @ symbols!).
